Ready for the business item? This is resolution number 2020 614, a resolution of the city council of the city of new port richey, Florida, establishing the proposed millage rate for ad valorem tax taxes for the fiscal year 2026 2027, providing for notice of the proposed millage rate, rollback rate and the date, time and place of the public hearing to adopt the tentative budget and proposed millage rate as provided herein, as indicated by the city attorney. The purpose of the resolution that we are asking you to consider and pass this evening is to comply with the truth in millage act of the Florida statutes, and we are requesting that, as such, the resolution contains information, as he indicated, on the date, time and place of the public hearing as well as the proposed levy on the proposed fiscal year 2627 operating budget. At this point, the city council is being asked to consider approving the tentative millage rate of 8.2000 mills and establishing the first public hearing on September 10th, 2026 at 6 p.m. And the reason that we are asking you to approve the tentative millage rate at 8.2000 is because that is our current millage rate. And as you'll recall from previous years, it the proposed millage establishes the maximum rate that is adopted. And we can, if we're able to reduce the millage. But we cannot exceed the maximum rate that you adopt this evening. So after we have a chance to evaluate all of our revenues and our expenditures, and we are able to further solidify the number, we will be back before you and ask you to establish the the final millage rate. And adopt it in advance of the fiscal year 2627 budget and miss don is here. I ask one question, and why are we doing on the 10th and not the first or the 15th? We have to juggle schedules and make sure that we don't conflict with the school board or the county. And we had difficulty getting dates, but the first and the 15th 15th when we have our regular meetings, that's what I'm asking. And it didn't work out, as I recall, on those dates. It's timing of the. Of the release of the taxable values. There's a certain amount of time that you can hold your public meetings after taxable values are released. After the proposed millage, and the trim notices are released. So it's all in timing. Thank you. Crystal. Public comment. You got more. You got more questions. No, I just want to continue. I just wondered why the ten. That's all. Yeah. Go ahead and open up for public. Oh, I know you need to at least say it. Does anybody like in anybody in the public would like to speak on this? Seeing a crowd rush up here? Can you, officer, could you hold them back? Go ahead. Move to move. To approve. Second. And for the record, there's no one in the audience. What? You got anything else you want to say? No. I'm good. All those in [00:05:08] Favor signify by I, I three. Nothing. Any any comments before we adjourn? We got we got four minutes.
